“If you can change the way people think, she said. The way they see themselves. They way they see the world. If you do that, you can change the way people live their lives. And thats the only lasting thing you can create.”

LOLITA
So I’ve started reading this book called, Lolita, and so far it’s pretty good but it turns out that this book is about an older man who loves little girls (10-16yrs) and doesn’t think that age should matter (have in mind this book takes place in the early 1900’s). I guess that’s creepy but hey, it’s suppose to be a great love story. so i guess ill read on..

“To be modern is to find ourselves in an environment that promises us adventure, power, joy, growth, transformation of ourselves and the world - and at the same time that threatens to destroy everything we have, everything we know, everything we are.”
“All people dream, but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind,
Wake in the morning to find that it was vanity.
But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people,
For they dream thier dreams with open eyes,
And make them come true.”
- D.H. Lawrence
“I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think i made you up inside my head)
The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut mu eyes and all the world drops dead.
I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think i made you up inside my head)
God...

” It’s because we’re so trapped in our culture, in the being of being human on this planet with the brains we have, and the same two arms and two legs everybody has. We’re so trapped that any way we could imagine to escape would be just another part of the trap. Anything we want, we’re trained to want.”
“My thoughts tend to sound better in books i didn’t write, and in songs i didn’t sing. Even then, sometimes there is no piece of literature, no song, no work of art that can really explain the way you feel. There is a double-edge comfort in knowing that no one really knows.”
